This mailbox was designed by an artisan, not an industrial designer. My concern is with the beauty of the object, not its ease of manufacturer.

The design is timeless and classic, and will blend with any style of architecture.

Neoprene spacers are furnished with the mailbox to put between the back of the box and the wall so that the box will "float" on a surface. Neoprene is the best lasting material for this type application.

Large (#12) solid brass screws and finishing washers are included so the box will be very adequately secured. When the box is open one sees pretty dots of yellow brass.

The exterior copper is rubbed clean and then dipped in a conversion solution to establish the initial patina.

No maintenance of any sort is required--copper doesn't rust, it "mellows."

Because of the extensive handwork in manufacturing and finishing, no two boxes are identical.

One can thump, slam, and bang the box and listen to the reassuring rich sound--it sounds and feels substantial, and it is.

The price of the box is less than what a skilled artisan would charge to make a similiar piece as a custom job.
